Quality Council of India is an autonomous body setup by the Government of India to establish and operate the National Accreditation Structure. National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of QCI, established to carry out accreditation activity in healthcare sector. At present NABH offers accreditation for Hospitals, Small Healthcare Organisations, Blood Banks, PHCs and CHCs.
QCI has initiated a Quality Improvement Programme in various States for adaption of NABH/NABL Standards in Government Hospitals, Blood Banks and Medical Labs. Currently projects are in progress in various States. In this endeavour, a one day programme on Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Public Healthcare is being organised where various State Government Officials will come together and share the experience, concerns and suggestion to carry forward this initiative.
